DIY Tip of the Day!

Mulching plant beds has many benefits. Mulch will prevent weed growth, hold in soil moisture and regulate soil temperature.

Do's and Don'ts of Mulching

-Don't spread your mulch more than 3-4" thick.

-Don't pile new mulch on top of old mulch. Clean out beds before spreading mulch.

-Do leave space around tree and shrubs. Piling mulch around trunks will encourage disease and insects.

-Do use a landscape fabric under your mulch. This will help prevent weeds.
